The Promise by Kate Benson

This book was amazing and very emotionally draining. If you read this, make sure you have a whole box of tissues with you. I loved the storyline and the characters. It flowed smoothly. I don’t do teasers, so I won’t y much more about The Promise other than, it is a beautiful story of love, loss, and loyalty. It has angst, comedy, and drama, but just the right amount of all of those things. The one reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I didn’t like that when it went from one pov to another it kind of repeated the story. I like different POV’s, but not when it says the same thing that the last character just said. It doesn’t do that all the way through the book, but it does throughout the first part of it. Thank you so much Kate Benson for allowing me to review The Promise and I cannot wait until I can read The Choice. I will recommend this book to everyone.

Her Dragon’s Fire by Julia Mills

Where to start with this one. I was lucky enough to beta read this and even though it is very late, Julia i hope still loves me. That being said, I absolutely loved it! I think I liked it a little more than Her Dragon To Slay only because I felt more of a connection with Aidan and Grace for some reason that I haven’t figured out yet. I thought that it was well written and put together. I didn’t want to put it down at all, but unfortunately, life happens as miss Julia has said to me. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it was a tad repetitive, but not so much that it took away from the story. I don’t put spoilers, so I will say that I was very emotional towards the end which I’m sure you will all know what I’m talking about when you get there. Aidan is adorable and Grace is a force to be reckon with and that makes a perfect union for them. I cannot wait to read Haunted by her Dragon when that comes out. I would recommend Her Dragon’s Fire to any and everyone. Thank you Julia for entrusting this to me to be beta read even though I am just now finished with it. Great work!

“Shayla’s Stories” By Beverly Preston

Beverly Has done it again with her book “Shayla’s Stories.” I am blown away and left wanting more. This book can be a stand alone or it can go right along with “No More Wasted Time.” “Shayla’s Stories” is about the very sexy and very famous Tom Clemmins’ niece Shayla. For those of you who have read NMWT you would know what I am talking about. Shayla works as Tom Clemmin’s assistant. She is very busy in her work and struggling with a relationship on the rocks. When Shayla is told she is needed in Greece for assisting her uncle, that gives her the chance to find clarity and find what she wants to do about her relationship woes. Shayla is not happy, however that she has to travel with Tess’ kids. Tess is Tom’s girlfriend and Tess’ kids were not a big fan of Tom to begin with and that bothered Shayla. Little did Shayla know, that she would feel right at home with Tess’ close knit family. Shayla ends up getting more than she bargained for when she is in Greece and that leaves her more confused than ever. Shayla returns home to finally make her decision and take the bull by the horns and comes head to head with a huge shock. You will have to read it to find out what that shock and what exactly she finds in Greece. Teehee! Way to go Beverly Preston. Once again you have left me very satisfied and panting for more heat and romance in your books. I don’t have anything bad to say about this book. So there you have it, another awesome book that I would recommend to everyone.

“Weak For Him” By Lyra Parish

Wow! Where to start…So I was blown away by this book from the very get go. I got the pleasure of being asked to Beta read “Weak For Him” and I do not regret my decision to say yes. I was drawn in just in the first five chapters of the book. I did everything with this book from eating all the way to taking it to the bathroom with me, because I did not want to put it down. The main character Jennifer is a foul mouthed, free spirit that is tired of living a modest lifestyle and after the death of her parents, she decides to go to where else? Vegas Baby! Jennifer had her plan of what she was going to do in Vegas and where she would work and live. Plans change…She finds herself out of the job of her dreams, but a mishap occurred and because of that mishap, Jennifer was thrown into a job interview with Mr. Felton. Little does she know that Finnley Felton does not run your average run of the mill business. Jennifer is faced with Felton’s job offer or go back to Texas and she does not want that. With “Weak For Him” you are going to get a rollercoaster of goodness. I personally found myself going through the emotions that Jennifer was going through and that is just awesome in my opinion. I do not have anything bad to say about this book, so there you have it. I would so recommend this book and I cannot wait to read everything that Lyra has coming to us.

“Her Dragon To Slay” by Julia Mills:

I absolutely loved this book. Aside from being a little repetitive in the beginning, I don’t have one bad thing to say about it. Julia Mills simply took my imagination to a whole nother level and for that, I thank her. “Her Dragon to Slay” is a beautiful interspecies love story that has a hint of Comedy and innocence to it. I thought it was very cute and romantic. It is a story about a curvy woman with trust and insecurity issues being swept off of her feet by a big gorgeous goofball with a big secret to share with her. This story is really unlike anything that I have personally read and I must say that it has opened my eyes to a whole new realm of reading. Kudos to Julia Mills and I am very impatiently waiting for the next book in this series to come out.

“Conklin’s Blueprints” by Brooke Page:

I absolutely loved this book. I thought that it was well written and flowed smoothly. Tyler Conklin and his brother Nathan are swoon worthy and very playful. It starts out with Becca being a pushover as well as a whiny, annoying drama queen, but she doesn’t stay that way, thank goodness. Becca is a woman whose family is well off, but she is very independent and works her ass off for what she has. This story is pretty much in a nut shell a story about living and learning. Becca lives through her troubled past and learns from her mistake while finding her backbone with the help of Tyler. Tyler is a sly and timid guy when it comes to relationships due to his past rendezvous’. Together they learn how to handle the ups and downs of any relationship. It is a beautiful story to say the least. I would recommend it for those hopeless romantics out there. Well done Brooke, I look forward to your next one.

“Dark Exorcist” by Tim Miller:

Ok, So the “Dark Exorcist” was very entertaining to say the least. Did I love it? No, But I didn’t hate it. I guess I am saying that I really enjoyed it. If you asked me if I would recommend it, then I would say yes. The “Dark Exorcist” is a story of, you guessed it, an exorcism, but unlike any of the exorcism movies, this one takes place in a hospital and it isn’t just the one person that is being possessed. Without giving too much away, if you want gore and blood and violence, then this would be for you. The story actually gave me the chills, which has not happened in over a decade. That is saying something for me right there. I thought that the story was decently written and the storyline was very good. It had very little typos and the Grammar was great. It flowed very smoothly. I would give it a 3 1/2 star rating if I were to rate it.

“Forbidden Trouble” By Travis Casey

I am absolutely ecstatic for all you to read this book!! I was thoroughly entertained all the way through. It was refreshing to read a kind of story through a male’s writing. “Forbidden Trouble” has it all and then some. It has humor, drama, (But not too much), love, romance, passion. You name it. I loved each of the characters in their own way. This is a story about star crossed lovers unlike any other story you will ever read about star crossed lovers. Tyler is a man in the Navy that gets screwed over and thrown onto a ship that he doesn’t want to be on…Until he meets Lt. Novak. Tyler knows that since he is only a petty officer and nothing can happen since she out ranks him, but it doesn’t stop him from fantasizing about her. Without giving any more away, I will let you decide if you want to know what happens in the end. I would definitely recommend this book to those of you that are looking for something a little different than the beautiful poor girl/guy that a millionaire falls in love with. 🙂 Thank you so much Travis Casey for allowing me to read and review your marvelous work of art, and I would be happy to read anything else you throw my way.
